In contrast to a speculator,who seeks at maximizing profit, an investor cares about generating value. The driver of any investment is therefore the recognition of the value proposition. If you trade in stocks, that value is money and profit, but if you trade in other commodities, and in particular art, the appreciation of value will change considerably.
